Hello, my name is Julie Howell and I work at Tarleton State University as an Assistant Professor of Educational Technology in the Educational Leadership and Technology.  I received my Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Tarleton State University and hold a Master's degree in Education with a focus on Instructional Design & Technology from West Texas A&M University.
My passion is teaching, especially the integration of technology into the classroom, and I love to learn and research tools in the field.  I am a huge fan of social media as a learning tool and love using the Google Suite in my classes!  I thrive on keeping as current as possible in the technology field, though ever-changing, and love to learn new tips and tricks.  I am always searching for innovative ideas to use in the classroom.  I learn something new every single day and that makes my career even more rewarding!

I believe that tools, such as mobile devices and social media, should be integrated into the classroom rather than seen as barriers to teaching.  I am also a firm believer that the use of technology does NOT make you a better teacher.  Integration of technology is simply a tool to help engage students and provide an interactive, collaborative environment which helps great teachers do what they do best... teach!
